Welcome, and thank you for your interest in postpartum care!  My name is Rose Campbell and I am a postpartum doula.  I love taking care of families.  Whether you have had a natural home birth, hospital birth (medicated or non-medicated), C-section, VBAC, multiples birth, traumatic birth, or you are an adopting family or grieving the loss of a baby, a postpartum doula can be a wonderful asset.  I am here to help you with your needs.

What is a postpartum doula you ask?  Good question!  A postpartum doula is a woman who comes into your home to help after the birth of your baby.  I can help with breastfeeding and troubleshoot any problems you are experiencing, look after older children, calm a worried partner, and take care of you (the mother) when you need the most rest and help in those days, weeks, or even months after birth.  I can cook, do light housekeeping/organizing, and offer many other services.  If there is a problem that I cannot help with, I can give you the resources you need to empower you to make the right decisions for your family.

As a mother myself, I know how challenging this time can be.  I am passionate about families, mothers, babies, and getting everyone off to a great start.  My job is to mother the mother so that she can begin to get to know the little being that will eventually steal her heart.  I am here for you, whatever your needs may be!

Please have a look around my site and contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more about my services.  Below is some more information about the role of the postpartum doula in today's society.

"Home-based support and encouragement for all moms during the early postpartum weeks are critical, and can also carry with them long-range implications for the mom and her family's well-being in future times."

The Role of the Postpartum Doula

Picture
Postpartum doulas can be an invaluable resource for new families.  It has been shown that hiring a postpartum doula can lead to:
  • Increased breastfeeding success rates
  • Decreased incidence of postpartum mood disorders
  • Greater satisfaction, both emotionally and physically, for mother and baby
  • More quality sleep (reason enough, right?)
  • Quicker recovery
  • Increased confidence in both mother and partner in abilities to care for newborn
  • Higher quality nutrition for mother and baby, as well as other members of the family during this uncertain time
  • More bonding time for mother and baby
  • Lower rates of postpartum anxiety
  • Decrease in unnecessary calls to pediatrician
  • Encouragement of appropriate well-baby and mother care
  • More time to rekindle partner relationships
  • Lower rates of anxiety and stress in partner

This list could go on and on.  Contact me today with any questions and to see how I can help your family in this special time!  You can also connect with me via social media (see above).
